Christian nationalist Joel Webbon, a pastor known for his racist, antisemitic, and misogynistic views, recently encouraged fellow right-wing Christians to use derogatory language against LGBTQ individuals. In a podcast episode, he described homosexuality as “degenerate” and harmful to society, asserting that it threatens children. Webbon claimed that using the word “faggot” in context is acceptable, urging Christians to reject LGBTQ influences on their children.
He expressed that society has a choice between Christian families and “sexual degenerates” living in the shadows, advocating that it should be the latter who are concealed. Webbon envisions a theocratic regime where a Christian ruler enforces religious law and eliminates what he deems degenerate behaviors. This includes a harsh array of proposed policies, such as outlawing abortion, preventing non-Christians from holding public office, and enforcing severe penalties for various moral infractions.
In 2023, Webbon contributed to a document called “The Statement on Christian Nationalism and the Gospel,” which emphasizes the need for the U.S. to uphold Christian law and reject global entities. He is shepherding events through his organization, Right Response Ministries, including the “Christ Is King: How To Defeat Trashworld” conference, which will feature other far-right Christian nationalist figures.
