Türkiye’s Center for Countering Disinformation has responded to coordinated online attacks aimed at undermining the strong relationship between Ankara and Baku. In a statement on the Turkish platform NSosyal, the center warned that certain posts contain criticism and falsehoods intended to damage the strategic partnership between Türkiye and Azerbaijan. It asserted that their bond, rooted in deep historical ties and shared values, is resilient against temporary disinformation campaigns.
The center emphasized that bilateral relations thrive under the leadership of Presidents Erdoğan and Aliyev, who embody the motto “One Nation, Two States,” reflecting the cultural and historical connections that unite both nations. This leadership ensures strategic cooperation across various domains, safeguarding against disruptions from disinformation.
Public vigilance is advised; the center urged citizens to be wary of exaggerated rhetoric and harmful propaganda. It recommended relying on official statements for accurate information regarding bilateral relations to prevent unnecessary tensions.
The center’s intervention highlights the significance of Ankara-Baku unity amidst regional instability, particularly given Azerbaijan’s role in Turkish energy security and its connection to Western markets. The proactive stance indicates Ankara’s commitment to fortifying this partnership against those who might wish to weaken it through disinformation.
