Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders addressed a crowd of 36,000 at Gloria Molina Grand Park in Los Angeles as part of their “Fighting Oligarchy” tour. Attendees united in their frustration against Donald Trump and Elon Musk, with the event marking one of the largest rallies on their tour so far. Many in the crowd were longtime supporters, while others were new to political activism, all fueled by anger over current societal conditions and the perceived lack of opposition from Democrats.
Sanders emphasized the dangers posed by the current administration and encouraged attendees not to lose hope. Speakers highlighted various social issues, including climate change and economic inequality, framing them as products of oligarchic control. Ocasio-Cortez remarked that Trump is a culmination of a system dominated by corporate interests. The rally served not only as a protest but as a call for solidarity against the ruling class, reflecting a commitment to grassroots resistance in safeguarding democracy.
