On December 6, 2025, a grand rally in Chattogram was held by the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, led by amir Shafiqur Rahman, alongside eight allied parties. The rally aimed to promote their five-point demands, which includes implementing a proportional representation system for upcoming national elections. Rahman condemned all forms of fascism, stating that they would not be tolerated in Bangladesh. He described the current situation as one of repression, injustice, and rampant corruption, criticizing the ruling Awami League for its violent history.
Khelafat Majlis leader Mamunul Haque emphasized the aspiration for a governance system based on Islamic principles, asserting the need to replace capitalism with a Quran-based economic system. Attendees offered prayers and expressed solidarity with the rally’s objectives. Other leaders from the allied parties underscored their demands for a fair electoral process, accountability for past actions, and a level playing field for all political entities.
