Young Fathers had their song “Pals,” released last year as part of the “28 Years Later” soundtrack, featured in an OpenAI advert during this year’s Super Bowl. The trio has decided to donate a portion of the fee to two charities: The Immigrant Rapid Response Fund, which provides legal services and essentials for immigrant communities targeted by ICE, and War Child, which supports youth affected by war by offering food, hygiene items, and mental health support.
They explained their decision, stating, “As the USA is increasingly under attack from fascism, we stand with those who are being kidnapped, murdered, and tortured by ICE thugs,” as well as those aiding children in conflict zones like Gaza and Ukraine.
Additionally, Young Fathers are contributing to the upcoming War Child charity album ‘Help(2)’, which features various indie artists and is set to be released on March 6 via War Child Records. The original ‘Help’ album, released over 30 years ago, included prominent bands like Oasis and Radiohead.
“Remember,” another track by Young Fathers written for a key scene in “28 Years Later,” showcased their unique vocal harmonies and was praised by the film’s director, Danny Boyle.
