Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is on a nationwide “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, aiming to unite Americans against what he views as a political and economic system dominated by a few billionaires. In a recent podcast, he highlighted that over 300,000 individuals in 21 states have attended his events, including people from diverse political backgrounds. Sanders attributes this response to widespread frustration over rising costs and wealth concentration, stating that most new wealth is going to the top while many suffer.
He emphasizes a grassroots approach to instigate change by mobilizing communities, especially in Republican-dominated areas. His strategy includes supporting local candidates and addressing issues like healthcare costs linked to GOP policies. Additionally, amidst low approval ratings for the Democratic Party, Sanders critiques the party for being too aligned with corporate interests and not adequately addressing the needs of the working class. He insists on the need to challenge the oligarchy to support the working class effectively.
