Igor Grosu emphasized the ongoing dangers of disinformation and hybrid attacks in the context of Moldova’s upcoming electoral campaigns. Speaking on Moldova1 TV, he highlighted the need for a thorough analysis and proposed initiating parliamentary debates involving various institutions to address these challenges. He noted the importance of a report from the Central Electoral Commission on the recent parliamentary elections and the effectiveness of countermeasures implemented during the campaign.
Grosu mentioned the collaboration of key agencies, including the National Anticorruption Center and the General Police Inspectorate, in improving the election process compared to previous years. He also acknowledged the Constitutional Court’s endorsement of election results and its recommendation to regulate social media networks.
Additionally, he stressed the necessity to establish clear rules for electronic currency payments to ensure transparency and security. Grosu underlined the urgency of these discussions as future elections approach. Following the September 28 parliamentary elections, President Maia Sandu expressed her commitment to convening discussions with the press and civil society to develop a unified plan against disinformation and misinformation.
